Accessing your voicemail with the OnePlus 6 without using voicemail notifications, while seemingly hidden from plain view, is very simple. I myself am a new(ish) owner of the OnePlus 6, and didn’t have Android Oreo running on the phone too long, so keep in mind that I’m using Android Pie 9.0. I would imagine the navigation is similar in Oreo and prior OnePlus models, but it’s all in the details when it comes to major Android updates.
I’ll include pictures below, but the navigation is as follows:
- Open official OnePlus phone app
- Press contacts to reveal voicemail tab
- Press voicemail
- Interact with voicemail via visual voicemail interface
That is all there is to it. The thing that can trip up the flow of navigation is the fact that the voicemail tab is nowhere to be seen upon initially opening up the phone app. You have to tab over to contacts before it becomes visible. From here you are easily able to manage your voicemail via the visual voicemail feature, making deletion, listening with speakerphone, and so forth a simple process.
Alternatively, if you are looking to access your voicemail traditionally, simply hold 1 on the dialer.
Look below for images of the steps provided above:

Navigating to voicemail is really simple when you know how to do it, but it’s also a user interface quirk that’s bound to trip some people up. If you’re an iPhone convert to the OnePlus 6, or Android in general, realize that using an Android phone is incredibly intuitive most of the time. The OS has come a long way since the early days when it comes to to being a feature rich and easy to use platform.
